AIBC’s take on a traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen. Wheat and German Pilsner malt start it out while the special house yeast strain gives it banana and clove esters. Its smoothness and effervescence make this the perfect beer for summer.
Special Note: Before you pour yourself a glass, turn the growlette upside down 2 times to get the sedimentary yeast to mix back into the beer (this is normal for Hefeweizens).
Food Pairing: cured pork, roast chicken or pork, salmon and scallops and lobster.
Hefeweizen beers hail from Bavaria and 'Weizen' means 'wheat' and 'hefe' means 'yeast', thus the cloudy appearance. Special yeasts are used to produce the hallmark aromas of banana and clove. The darker versions of this style are referred to as 'dunkels'.
