Simcoe has been one of Hermitage's favorite varieties in the single-hop experiment so they decided to bring it back for 2017. The aroma is big and earthy, like walking through a pine forest on a summer day. There is an underlying fruit character on the nose, almost like orange rind with passion fruit, but it is subtle to pick up through all the pine. The flavor is bold and full of dank pine up front, but quickly subsides into a fairly mild and sweet passionfruit or guava. The beer finishes dry, with a slight bitterness thatlingers, reminding you to take another sip.
The most popular American craft beer style. Floral, fruity, citrus, piney aromas and flavors. They range in ease of drinking (session) from easy to quite huge knock-you-out-of-your-chair flavor and alcohol.
