This year’s 2016 Winterscotch is medium to full bodied, tawny in color, and has a light smoky cherry pipe tobacco character. A Strong scotch style ale, rich and malty. The balanced lingering finish carries a mild toasted caramel flavor followed by a clean malt balance. A nice winter warmer for these cold days.
Malty, malty, malty with a hint of malt. Also known as the "Wee Heavy" the are typically high in alcohol with a rich and bold sweetness aroma and flavor and some are quite smokey. Scotch Ales are more sessionable and refined than Scottish Ales, that '-ish' is important.
