Also known as a Helles Bock, this beer is brewed at bock strength, but lighter and with more hop presence. They use pilsner and munich malt with a large amount of noble hops. The name comes from an address where Alameda Island was inspired to brew one.
Maibock translates to ‘May Bock’, a Bavarian springtime seasonal golden lager. It’s also called a Helles Bock. Designed as a transition beer from the rich, strong, and hearty winter beers to the lighter summertime beers – right in the middle for spring. A balanced beer with malts and hops, earthy and crisp.
