Sessionable, flavorful, and crisp, this lager beer style’s history harkens back to German lager traditions. In 1864, Vienna-born Maximillian the First, a member of the House of Hapsburg-Lorraine, brought the style across the pond when he was proclaimed Emperor of Mexico. Although Maximilian was executed in 1867, the beer style lived on. We like its rich malt aroma and flavor, and light dry hopped floral finish.
Kind of a catch-all category for beer. Craft-style lagers are a bit more malty but still very easy drinking. They're more full in flavor and aroma than the lighter big beer brands on grocery-store shelves.
