International Pale Lager
Availability: In Stock
Crisp, Dry and Refreshing. Kampai is Japanese for “Cheers!”
This golden International pale lager is bright, crisp, clean and dry. Touches of light malt tones but delicate enough to allow the elegant hop profile to shine through in a crisp, slightly bitter herbal finish. Refreshing and eminently drinkable, this golden brew is highly quaffable and perfect for all occasions.
Lifting a glass to your friends, family, and co-workers is a tradition that exists in many cultures. For the Germans, they say “Prost!” In America and England, it’s “Cheers!” When we started brewing this lager, we had the great pale lagers from Japan in mind and thought it fitting to call it “Kampai!”
Bright and very versatile, this beer can be paired with most cuisine. However, we really felt that to keep with the theme of the brew, lining this up with a killer bowl of rich, warm Tonkotsu Ramen was the best way to go. For a cheese pairing, you’ll want something a little nutty and sharp, with some crumbly dry texture which naturally leads us to a well-aged Parmesan. For Dessert, you’ll want to finish your meal with Mochi.
Low to moderate levels of grainy-malt flavor, with a crisp, dry, well-attenuated finish. The grain character can be somewhat neutral, or show a light bready-crackery quality or up to moderate corny or malty sweetness. Hop flavor ranges from none to medium levels, and often showing a floral, spicy, or herbal character if detected. Hop bitterness at medium-low to medium level. Balance may vary from slightly malty to slightly bitter, but is relatively close to even. Neutral aftertaste with light malt and sometimes hop flavors.
